Starting Over

Well, so much has happened in the past 3 years that I don’t really know where to start. The past two years have been spent opening and operating a restaurant. In mid-March, I thought I was closing temporarily due to Covid-19 but it ended up being permanent. I put so much into my restaurant and loved it so much so this has been a hard hurdle to get across. I have been doing a lot of soul searching. I have always been a fan of Dr. Shefali and she offered daily meditations and daily talks during these troubling times. She has now gone to just the meditations but I highly suggest you check her out. You can find her on facebook at this address: https://www.facebook.com/groups/getsuperpowered/learning_content/. Click on the Units for previous meditations.

If you followed my blog before, you know that I lost 70 pounds. I am ashamed to say that I have regained my weight. Instead of beating myself up for this, I am recommitting myself to get back on track. I have done it before, and I can do it again.

I am going to focus on a more vegetable-based eating plan. I will still eat all the foods that I enjoy but I will limit my salt and sugar intake. I am not giving up meat at this point but I have already been making dishes for me and my daughter that are more vegetable-based. She is not a big meat eater either so this should not be too difficult. Spices are going to play a major role and I am going to get back to using myfitness pal app to make better choices so that I can eat foods that are more nutritionally beneficial.
